Position Responsibilities: Full Time Position in Sausalito, California
• Hands-on experience developing, architecting, and running ML or deep learning applications: training, data augmentation, performance tracking, evaluation metrics, etc.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning, from their mathematical concept to the interpretation of their output,
• Experience with handling and processing image data, including labelling data on experimental and synthetic environments,
• Experience with ML and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow/Keras
• Ability to interpret raw sensor data and make sense of its electro-optical properties like noise, responsivity, spectral distribution, spatial distribution, etc.,
• Familiar with basic design of optical systems (first order) but ideally also familiar with higher-order optics like distortion effect,
• Experience running experimental setups for generating/collecting data to be used for algorithms training,
• Exposure to feedback control applications using optical sensors,
• Apply reinforcement learning and deep learning methodologies to enhance decision-making processes. Experience in space applications.

Responsibilities.
Lead the development and evolution of GNC systems for small satellites
Provide hands-on support for hardware and software design, including architecture and component selection for both computing and sensors, and algorithm and hardware implementation.
Design, build, test and validate simulation models for GNC hardware sensors and actuators, vehicle dynamics, and the space environment.
Develop AI algorithms.
Provide hands-on support for small satellite integration and testing.
Develop an integrated GNC simulation to support subsystem performance analyses and deployment of GNC using MATLAB/Simulink and ANSYS-STK.
Perform functional and qualification testing of GNC software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL)
Develop tools that support analysis of subsystem configurations, mission performance and analytics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant (e.g. engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science) with at least 5 years of experience.
Desired Qualification Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering/science discipline at a bachelor's level or Advanced degree
Strong Skills in C, C++, Python, and MATLAB
Familiarity with Kalman filters, developing algorithms, etc.
Excellent communications skills, ability, and desire to work collaboratively in a team environment, and willingness to learn new skills and technology.
Experience with GNC modeling and simulation, analysis, integration, test, and spacecraft operations.
Experience developing and deploying tracking algorithms to embedded systems.
Experience in GNC focus areas such as filters, rigid-body dynamics, estimation and control theory, and perturbation modeling.
